This is the position I found myself in 8 years ago, having bought a retail outlet in 2001 selling Domestic Appliances and Vacuum Cleaner Bags and Accessories. I soon realised with the Internet boom, selling just vacuum cleaner bags online could potentially be very successful. In 2003, I began working with Widagroup to create and develop Dustbag.co.uk, which was soon up and running.

After an initial period I soon realised the importance of online marketing and so started using Google Adwords to promote the site and due to an increase in sales the decision was taken to close the retail outlet, relocating to a warehouse to concentrate purely on Dustbag.co.uk

After continued growth I began sourcing stock direct from manufactures rather than from wholesalers, which helped Dustbag be more cost effective.

Today Dustbag.co.uk is a thriving small business with turnover due to reach £1 million in 2010, even during the recession! This, in part, I put down to holding vast amounts of stock enabling us to maintain an excellent level of customer service, key to the success of any online business.
